1997 Buick Park Avenue. To replace the serpentine belt on a V6 3800 you must jack up the motor and remove a motor mount. You must then use a breaker bar with a socket (13/64") and pull it toward the front of the car to release the belt tensioner. Put the new belt on, tighten it, put the mount back on, and lower the jack.

I have a 1997 Buick Park Avenue Base engine. I am thinking about changing the serpentine belt. It isn't really bad looking, but I am thinking that it's time to change it soon. Just looking at it from the top under the hood, it looks like it would be impossible to route a new belt to the crankshaft pulley without removing an engine mount.
