At the end of last season I was cutting with my Toro Timecutter and all of a sudden my right hand drove went totally unresponsive. Note, a few weeks before this happened I noticed chattering, stuttering in the wheels before a stop and general whining from the machine. SO, I did the hydro oil change and drive belt change. The whining and squealing and chattering before a stop have been eliminated. However, the hydro gear that initially died (the one that caused me to get into all of this) is bar... My toro won't hold a charge, I have to charge the battery about every 3 or 4 starts. Research as led me to it being the voltage regulator. Volt meter is reading less then 1 volt when i test it between the battery post and regulator. Does it sound like a bad voltage regulator or is it supposed to read that low?

Title pretty much says it all... im looking to buy a mower and was wondering anyones opnion on them. I know its made by the same company. I like the suspension seat on the MyRide but its not really the selling factor for me. I want something that will last me a while with no major repairs as long as its maintained. I plan on doing routine maintenance on it. Im also open to any other opinions on mowers around that price.

I was recently helping a buddy of mine with his lawn mower. We were talking about removing the whee shaft from one of the whee motors. I expressed my concern with ensuring we don’t let a bunch of fluid leak out. His father in law then explained that it was “electrostatic” and didn’t use hydraulic fluid. His reading was that there is no oil reservoir. I explained that I believe it is just a sealed system for low maintenance and he stood his ground. So I just decided that maybe he knows more than... I'm changing the [Idler belt](https://www.partstree.com/models/74616-ss-4216-toro-timecutter-zero-turn-mower-sn-313000001-313999999-2013/belt-and-idler-assembly-3/) on the back end of my Toro and now I'm having issues figuring out how it's supposed to snake around everything. Does anyone have a picture that's better than a diagram of the belt by chance? I know, I should have taken pictures of it before I took it off. I got it back on, but it's not tight at all so I must be missing something. Looking to get a ZTR, trying to keep it around $3k. Looking for feedback on these two models. It looks like I can get a Ariens Ikon X 52 for a few bucks more than the 42, so may be a benefit there.

I finally decided I can't take it anymore. I've been looking at the used market and it's hard to find what I want for what I'm willing to pay. At this point I'm just gonna bite the bullet and go for a brand new residential zero turn ride on. I've narrowed it down to two options. 1) https://www.somd-ope.com/new-models/toro-42... Bought a new Timecutter 2 weeks ago. Mowed the yard once with it and worked fine as it should. Went to start it up today and it started fine, turned it around to pull out of the building and it turned off and won’t start back. Pulled both plugs and they are firing, gas tank is obviously full. When I turn the key the starter engages and it starts to turn over and the starter disengages and cuts off as it’s staring to fire up then just dies.

i bought a toro timecutter last year 2020 in june about and a maybe November it wouldnt go into park when i put the handles in the park spot any ideas? I have a Toro Timecutter Model #-74370 and am having issues with it starting. I believe the battery is OK as it measures 12v. I've tried jumping the mower just to be sure. It seems to click but the starter isn't spinning the flywheel. Here's a video. Do I need a new starter? I literally had it started for about 5 minutes... and noticed low tire pressure. Have a 4 year old mower that won't start because the Parking Brake is justtttttttttt in the wrong spot, or half the time if I get off and apply the parking brake (as in manual) it will shut off. I'm not an idiot and don't have kids/dogs, just want to use my stuff without safety switches turning off or refusing to start mower.  Anyone have an idea where to start? I have a Toro Timecutter SS5000, its about 6 years old at this point but recently its been randomly shutting down when mowing. As soon as I move the steering bars out, turn the ignition off, disengage the mowing deck then turn back on it fires right up. Not sure what's going on, seems to me its an issue with one of the safety switches, maybe? Has anyone had something similar? Checked wiring and i don't see any issues visually with wiring...

Bought a new place with a few acres and some trees, and I want to get a zero turn. I found a 2016 Toro Timecutter SS5425 for $2500. Approximately 75 hours. For some reason I didn't think Toro was the best brand of outdoor equipment. How are their zero turn products? Is this a good deal? How long will something like this last me? The property has a few small bumps here and there, but nothing wild. 3.2 acres.
